1- What is the purpose of this web page?
The main purpose of this educational web is to offer Phonetics II students from UNEFM all kind of information concerning to phonological processes of connected speech. Besides, it is very important for us that all phonetic students participate in each one of the activities proposed by the teacher.
2- What type of knowledge should I have for employing this Educational Web?
First of all, students or users of this page must have knowledge about internet browsing matters, an intermediate English Proficiency level, some knowledge about e-mail account management and use of the forums.
3- How can I access to the syllabus design?
To access Syllabus design you will find it doing “click” on Syllabus, when you have finished, you will find a preview of the Syllabus design of the Unit. Also you may download it by clicking on the provided link. Please, you must read it carefully because there you will find all criteria’s that your teacher will take into account for evaluating all the activities.
4- How can I know the type of activities that will be carried out on this web page?
To get this type of information it is necessary you make “click” on evaluation, this part will show you all kind of activities that phonetic teacher will employ for evaluating your knowledge.
5- How can I comment on the blog activities?
To comment a blog´s activity It is necessary to have a valid Gmail account. Do not worry, this server is free and easy to access.
6- What kind of programs should I have on my computer to develop all the activities of the course?
Most of the activities may be done through the use of a simple text processor (Microsoft Word, AbiWord, Open Office Writer, etc). Some other requires from an Internet Browser (Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, ect). The most complicated activity (the podcast recording) just need to access to a web page (http://www.vocaroo.com) in which you may do all the process. Do not be worried about it, we simplified all the activities for your convenience.
7- Some activities should be developed in the forum, how can I have a successful register?
It is very difficult to create a forum account?At the moment you start accessing to the forum you will need a valid forum account. In the forum´s area you will find a brief tutorial with all the information you need to have a successful register. The process is easier than creating an e-mail account in hotmail, for example.
8- What can I do in case I have a doubt related to the thematic unit?
It is easy! You must go to the Doubts Forum and create a new post with the doubt you have. A classmate or the teacher may help you answering your question. Besides you have the Contact page in which we provided several ways to contact us (e-mail addresses and some social network widgets).
